COOKIE POLICY

This document is the extended Cookie Policy pursuant to paragraph 4.2 of Provision no. 229 of 8 May 2014. Its purpose is to inform Users about the types of Cookies present on our Site and provide a general description, regarding cookies, of the methods implemented to manage the processing of personal data acquired on the Site (hereinafter “Site”). This Cookie Policy was created to provide Users with the necessary information concerning the way in which cookies are used on this Site and the alternatives available for managing them, depending on preferences.

In addition to the Cookie Policy, Bottega Verde also provides its Site Users with its Privacy Practices ,which details the purposes for which their personal data is used and its subsequent protection and storage, and its Privacy Policy , which describes the methods used to manage the Site in regards to the processing of the personal data of the Users who consult it.

This document does not include processing that occurs on other Websites which may be viewed by Users via links found on the Site. This document purposefully incorporates the contents of the Privacy Policy applied by the Italian Data Protection Authority – published on its official Site, – regarding the processing of Users’ personal data.

Bottega Verde s.r.l. respects the privacy of everyone who visits its Site and, as such, conforms to the privacy protection policies contained in the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, concerned with the protection of natural persons regarding personal data processing, as well as the cautions and procedures that the Italian Data Protection Authority has specified in its Privacy Policy, which is published on its official Site. Bottega Verde s.r.l. complies with provision no. 229, 8 May 2014, the “Identification of simplified arrangements to provide information and obtain consent regarding cookies.” and with provision No. 231, 10 June 2021, “Guidelines on Cookies and Other Tracking Tools”.

The Bottega Verde Site makes use of the possibility to send and then later read cookies for the purposes described in “The use of cookies on the Bottega Verde Site” section.

Bottega Verde carries out no promotional and/or advertising communication without the express prior consent of the User .

The use of these files, called “cookies”, allows users to be recognised.

As specified in the "Cookie Management" section, Users visiting and accessing the Site, if they are not recognised from a previous visit, will be shown the Cookie Policy and the section for the management of consent for the use of cookies. In the dedicated section, Users, depending on their preferences, can refuse or accept all those types of cookies that require their express, prior consent for installation.

Users are also free to configure their browser to accept all cookies, refuse them or receive a notification when a cookie is sent to the browser. All services will, in any case, be guaranteed, even if cookies are not permitted, with the difference that in order to be recognised by the Site, customers will have to enter their e-mail address and password. Today's browsers allow Users to decide whether or not to accept cookies, but refusal to accept them may make some features unusable, and some services may not function correctly.

COOKIE SPECIFICATIONS

A cookie is a small data packet that a Website stores on the User’s computer. A cookie is a data string, written in machine language (“base language”). Thus, these are small data flows that are saved by Users’ computers when they access a Site or parts of the same.

Cookies, which are more commonly known as “Web Cookies” or “Tracking Cookies”, are small text files that are sent from an internet server – the computer from which the visited Site is running – to Users’ browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and saved on the hard disk of Users’ personal computers. It is an ID card for the Site that sent it and contains no viruses. If you were to open the relative folder, you would see a list of small data flows, all around 1k in size, with the exception of the index file, which is a little bigger. They are all very small data flows and should never create any problems with Users’ disk space.

As they are merely flows of text, they cannot send viruses and if you look at the name of the cookies, you will see that they always contain a reference to the names of the sites that have been visited previously. The use of the information collected through cookies, such as the connectivity server that the User is registered on, the type of browser used and the User’s click-through rate on any banners, is limited to personalisation and degree of satisfaction with the services available on the Site, also concerning advertising.

Cookies are often – wrongly – considered to be executable programmes, which creates inaccurate beliefs. In actual fact, they are simple blocks of data, which – alone – cannot execute any action on the computer. Specifically, they cannot contain spyware or viruses. Despite this, cookies from some sites are categorised as spyware by many anti-spyware products as they allow Users to be identified.

Why websites use cookies.

Web pages have no memory. If you browse from one page to another on a Site, you will not be recognised as the same User on each page. Cookies allow the Site to recognise the User’s browser and therefore are mainly used to remember their choices, for example, the language and currency they have selected, and to recognise the User when they visit again.

During the browsing experience, the following is recorded: information concerning the browser used by the client, the click-through rate in the different areas of interest, the products most purchased and a series of aspects linked to personalisation and degree of satisfaction with the services offered by visited Site.

Not all cookies are the same.

There are various kinds of cookies and different ways of using them. Cookies are distinguished based on the function they carry out, their duration and depending on who has added them to a website.

Types of cookies.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used to offer Users an intuitive and advanced Site that automatically adapts to their needs and preferences. They are essential for the optimal functioning of Sites and allow you to view the website, allow it to function properly, allow you to create a personal account and log in, and allow requests to be managed.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are used to remember preferences and help Users to use the Site effectively and efficiently, as well as recall the searches and facilities that they are currently viewing and those they viewed in the past. Functional cookies are not essential for the functioning of the Site, however they increase its functionality and improve the overall experience.

These two categories of cookies (technical and functional cookies) are so-called temporary cookies .

These are “session cookies” and are sent by the Site to Users’ computers when they are browsing, yet are only saved for the duration of the browsing session. This means that when Users close their browser, the cookies are automatically deleted and disappear, without being saved on the computer. They are made up of random numbers generated by the server and work to allow the Site to be browsed safely and efficiently.

The use of cookies facilitates Users’ browsing on the Site, by – for example – remembering the data provided by Users when they compile forms on the Site (so-called user input cookies), recognising Users after they have logged into the Site (so-called authentication cookies) and to personalise the Site’s interface based on the preferences indicated by Users, etc.

These cookies do not require the prior and express consent of Users as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the service requested by Site Users.

The other types of cookies are:

Analytics cookies

We use analytical cookies to better understand how visitors use the Site, to understand what works and what doesn’t, to optimise and improve the Site and to ensure that the Site is always interesting and relevant. The data acquired includes web pages visited, exit and entry pages, platform type, date and time information and data such as the number of clicks on a certain page, mouse movements, scrolling, words searched for and text entered while using the Site. We also incorporate analytical cookies for online advertising campaigns to find out how Users interact with a Site, for example, in regard to online sales and also after viewing an ad on third-party Websites.

Commercial cookies

Commercial cookies are used to show the ads of a Site on other Websites. This is known as “retargeting” and varies depending on the actions of the User on the commercial Site, such as the destinations they search for, the facilities they view and the prices shown.

Cookies originating from social media

Some cookies can be recorded as soon as you visit the Site and use the features of social networks on this Site. These cookies allow Users to share Site content with other people, as well as their opinion on what they share. This is the case with the “Share” or “Like” options offered by “Facebook”, “Twitter”, “LinkedIn” and “Viadeo”, etc. If you decide to use these options and, more generally, if you decide to visit the Site while remaining connected to a social network, these cookies may communicate information about your visit to the Site to the social networks in question. This information may be used for sales or advertising purposes.

Web beacons

In addition to cookies, sometimes so-called web beacons are used. A web beacon is a small graphic image consisting of a single pixel that is placed on Users’ computers as part of a web page or via an email in HTML format. These pixels are used directly or through third party providers, on the relevant Site or on those of third parties. The purposes are varied: to determine whether a User decides to continue after viewing an online ad; to track conversion rates for partner Websites; and to analyse the online behaviour of Users in order to optimise the services the Site offers.

This category represents the cookies that are commonly known as permanent cookies .

These are cookies placed on Users’ computers by the Site when they are browsing, yet they are also saved beyond the duration of the browsing session, until they expire or they are deleted by Users.

The use of these cookies requires the express and informed consent of the User.

By accessing the homepage of the Site, or other pages of the Site, and viewing the short cookie information banner and viewing the extended policy (Privacy Policy), the Site Policy and the specific Cookie Policy and continuing to browse on our Site, Users are giving their consent to the use of cookies. If Users have configured their internet browser (e.g. Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) to accept cookies, this is also considered as valid consent.

Furthermore, if Users register on the Site and provide their specific consent to receive personalised offers based on their consumption habits, obtained also through the use of cookies and by monitoring their browsing on the Site, the data related to the browsing on the Site may be associated with their personal data, with the subsequent identification and collection of consumption preferences for specific and targeted sales and advertising initiatives.

Use of cookies by the Bottega Verde Site.

Cookies do not collect information that can directly identify Users. In fact, Bottega Verde cannot obtain any directly identifiable information (e.g. name, surname) from cookies if it is not provided by Users directly. Cookies allow the Site to identify the personal computer of the User, through the information it contains, every time the User connects to the Site using their personal computer.

Furthermore, the Site cannot use the cookie placed by the Bottega Verde Site to access other information contained on Users’ computers. Once saved on the computer, the cookie can only be read by the Site that created it.

Bottega Verde does not sell or transfer User data collected through cookies, unless it has previously informed them through messages or notifications on the Site and requested their express consent or for reasons imposed by Law.

Through monitoring of the User's browsing on the Site, Bottega Verde may:

• detect anonymous data of a statistical nature concerning the percentage of e-mails delivered with respect to the number sent, of e-mails read, of messages opened, forwarded to third parties, number of clicks, etc

Cookie Management.

When Users enter any page of the Bottega Verde Site (either the Home Page or any other page to which access is available from outside of the Website), if they are not recognised from a previous visit, a clearly visible banner will appear, presenting the Cookie notice and the section for the management of consent for the use of cookies. In the dedicated section, Users, depending on their preferences, can refuse or accept all those types of cookies that require their express, prior consent for installation.

A link to this more complete Cookie Policy offers information on the types of cookies used and on the procedures to directly provide or refuse consent for their installation.

Without Users' consent for their use, it will not be possible to browse the Bottega Verde website.

Users can change and manage their cookie preferences in their browser settings. Users can decide to configure their browser to accept all cookies, refuse them or receive a notification when a cookie is sent to their browser. All accepted cookies can later be deleted. Until Users select to refuse cookies on their browser, the Bottega Verde system will send the cookies when they connect to the Site. Users who wish to block or delete the cookies received from the Site www.bottegaverde.com (after previously confirming them in the dedicated section upon access to the Site) or from any other Site may do so by changing the settings of the browser used, as defined below. All services are still guaranteed when the use of cookies is not permitted. The only difference is that the client must enter their email address and password for the Site to recognise them. Modern browsers allow Users to decide whether to accept or refuse cookies, however the refusal could make some content unusable and certain services may not function correctly.

Users can delete the cookies collected from the hard disk of their device at the end of every browsing session. If you want to delete the cookies installed in the cookie folder of your browser, please remember that each browser has different procedures for managing settings.
