The trunks of the olive trees, twisting up skywards like sculptures in the style of Michelangelo, are a characteristic feature of the marvellous landscapes of the hills of Pienza, home to Palazzo Massaini. Here, on 15 acres of land caressed by the wind and warmed by the sun of Tuscany at its most authentic, our olive trees grow strong and lush. Cared for and pampered by expert hands, in mid-October the trees yield their precious fruit: juicy olives. At Tenuta Massaini, the olives are still harvested by hand. Then, in the following 8/12 hours, they are taken to the olive mill, just 2 km away! The vicinity of the mill allows us to keep the olives in perfect condition for the cold-pressing process. The extra virgin oil obtained with this painstaking process is undoubtedly of superior quality, with a unique taste and quality.
